Ram Nath Kovind files nomination for indian Presidential election

NEW DELHI: NDA hopeful Ram Nath Kovind on Friday documented his nomination papers for the up and coming survey to choose the fifteenth President of India.

He was joined by Prime Minister Narendra Modi on his outing to Parliament House to document his papers. Additionally with Ram Nath Kovind were a few senior BJP pioneers, some main clergymen of NDA-ruled states and senior pioneers of different gatherings supporting his candidature.

Kovind is previous legislative head of Bihar. In the Presidential decision booked for July 17, he will go head to head with the Congress-drove resistance applicant Meira Kumar, whose assignment was declared Thursday. Checking of votes is relied upon to happen on July 20.

The Shiv Sena, the Janata Dal (U) and the AIADMK, including O. Panneerselvam, have all sponsored Kovind's candidature for the post of President. What's more, with 63.1% of the appointive school votes as of now taken care of, Kovind is required to be a shoo-in for the post.

Upwards of 48.9% of votes Kovind is relied upon to get will be from the NDA and the support of a few non-NDA territorial gatherings is viewed as knocking that number to over 63%.

"The resistance is presenting to Meira Kumar's name on the rundown since they get a handle on left. It's anticipated that more than 60 percent vote will succumb to NDA's picked candidate Kovind. They have chosen to battle it out through this survey. Be that as it may, we can't resist watching them lose," said the BJP's Prabhat Jha to ANI on Thursday.
